Note: test4aqua products and the corresponding apps serve as an aid or a quick check of selected water quality parameters from time to time. test4aqua products and apps are not intended to take the place of an extensive water analysis according to the Drinking Water Ordinance or German DIN 19643 for water in swimming pools. Nitrate check. test4aqua measures nitrate in aquariums. Reading should be between 0 and 25 mg/l.

Nitrite check. test4aqua measures nitrite in aquariums. Reading should be 0 mg/l.
Nitrite result is in target range.
Nitrite result is outside target range. Change of all or some of the water recommended.
Total chlorine check. test4aqua measures total chlorine in aquariums. Reading should be 0 mg/l.
Total chlorine result is in target range.
Total chlorine result is outside target range. Change of all or some of the water, oxygenation of water or use of active carbon filter recommended.
Total hardness check. test4aqua measures total hardness (water hardness) in aquariums. Reading should be between 6 – 14°d.
Total hardness result is in target range.
Total hardness result is outside target range. If reading is 0 °d, addition of minerals or hard water is recommended. If 28 - 56 °d, adding black peat or soft water is recommended.
pH check. test4aqua measures the pH number in aquariums. Reading should be in neutral range between pH 6.8 – 7.6.
pH result is in target range.
pH result is outside target range. If reading is up to 6.4, addition of minerals or carbonated water recommended. If 8.0 to 8.4, addition of black peat or soft water is recommended.
Carbonate hardness check. test4aqua measures the carbonate hardness (alkalinity) of water in aquariums. Numbers should be in semi-hard range between 6 to 10°d.
Carbonate hardness result is in target range.
Carbonate hardness result is outside target range. If reading is 0 to 3°d, addition of minerals or carbonated water recommended. If 15 °d addition of black peat or soft water recommended.
